Assistant Professor of Art Lyndon Barrois Jr. has been selected for The Starr Fellowship, a year-long artist residency at the Royal Academy Schools, the Royal Academy of Arts’ school of contemporary fine art in central London.

The prestigious fellowship is awarded annually to one US artist, focusing on the development of the Starr Fellow’s studio practice and providing generous funding and access to the RA Schools’ extensive resources. Beginning his residency this September, Barrois will also be available to advise first-year postgraduate students at the RA Schools.

The Fellowship will culminate in July 2025 with an exhibition of Barrois’ work, which will continue to develop his original cinematic narrative that will not be filmed, but rather told through objects and images both made and borrowed from museum collections.
